ABOUT US

DURA Investment Group (IG) is a multi-faceted Pan-African investment club that focus on all forms of diaspora investment (both DDI and DPI) focusing specifically on long-term sustainable projects including but not limited to public private partnership (PPPs) in home and host countries. Our focus is primarily on infrastructure, renewable energy, water and agribusiness technology.

Diaspora Direct Investments

Our aim is to captivate diaspora investments, scale up sustainable private-public partnerships in infrastructure, renewable energy, water, and agribusiness technology to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Channelling diaspora’s economic & human capital into investments in the home country is our core mission.

Investment Committee

The Investment Committee allows African diaspora to gain exposure to fundamental analysis by preparing and presenting stock pitches to their associates. We separate representatives into sectors and specialize in their various verticals.

Pan-African Investment Conventions

The MIC organizes multi-day recruitment conventions in Montreal and Toronto, offering a select group of students access to exclusive networking events with leading financial firms, as well as constructive workshops and guest speakers. Spots are limited and geared towards students entering the Summer 2023 recruitment cycle.

Asset Management Conference

The MIC hosts a large-scale, conference each year with the aim of encouraging intellectual discourse between McGill students and professionals from the asset management industry. Last year, the theme of our conference was Corporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

Global Stock Pitch Competition

The MIC invites students from universities around the world to participate in its undergraduate stock pitch competition, one of the largest in North America. The stock pitch is designed to showcase students’ financial skills by exploring themes that are not typically explored in the classroom. This year’s theme is The Big Short.
